For those who prefer a slightly easier life and don't want the responsibility of finishing the doors, our superb collection of oak pre-finished internal doors solid panel, glazed and unglazed oak models, are the solution. Perfectly in a traditional or modern setting and with numerous fire door options available to maximize the breadth of appeal and versatility, the offering is ideally suited to new build applications as well as remodelling or renovation projects. All our oak pre-finished internal doors have a high quality lacquered finish, ready for hanging. Oak pre-finished internal Doors are available in many different sizes including some that are available in metric sizes for properties that were built in the 1970’s. The reason for metric oak pre-finished internal doors being constructed is that in the 1970’s the UK joined the EEC. The Government then decided that we would adopt the metric sizes rather than the imperial. The varnish that is used on oak pre-finished internal doors is of much better quality than it used to be as technology has progressed over the years. Many varnishes and stains have UVA and UVB filters in them. These filters stop the sun from bleaching the doors and keep oak internal pre-finished doors looking great for a long time to come. Many stains and varnishes are also flexible so that they do not crack when the door expands and contacts. This will happen naturally in the summer and the winter. If possible it is much better to choose oak pre-finished internal doors as you can hang the door without worrying about varnishing the door. However, if you trim the door you must make sure that you refinish the edges of the door with a good quality varnish such as Ronseal’s Diamond Hard. Some door fitters are afraid to fit oak pre-finished doors in case they damage them. This is only the case with a very small percentage of door fitters and these fitters should be avoided as a good fitter will not be afraid of scratching the oak pre-finished internal doors. Also a fitter should not charge much more to fit a oak pre-finished internal doors than an unfinished internal oak door.
